Petra is a domestic rabbit. (We originally thought she was Peter until her last trip to the vet!) Rabbits are timid and shy, and have very fragile bones. They don't make good pets for small children. Petra holds her head to one side, she may have had a stroke at some point in her life. She is friends with Dixie , our chicken.
Petra gets to run around the basement when we're there to supervise. Patti isn't sure what he thinks about that arrangement.
Petra eats hay, rabbit pellets, lettuce, apples, bananas, and carrots. It's important for rabbits to have a varied diet that includes fresh fruit and veggies.
