Faraa (pronounced FAIR-uh) is our female African Serval. She lives next door to
Kenya
. Servals can jump really high in the air and have been known to take birds in flight. Servals are exceptionally good hunters and are solitary in the wild except when they pair up to breed. Their back legs are longer than their front legs, and they have a very slender build.

A short moment after this photo was taken Faraa launched off my arm and gave me a couple of good scratches. Wild animals don't make good pets! She was about 2 months old then. |
